Research Chemist
Radiation Physics Division
National Institute of Standards and Technology

Ileana Pazos is a chemist in the Radiation Physics Division working in the Dosimetry Group on irradiations and transfer services for high-dose radiation dosimetry. She joined NIST in 2017 and performs calibration services using 60Co Gammacell irradiators and alanine-electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) dosimetry measurement systems. Current research projects at NIST include development of dosimetry standards for absorbed dose in radiation processing and biodosimetry. This includes industrial applications of the Photonic Dosimetry NIST-on-a-Chip project that aims to develop micron-scaled radiation sensors.
